Haven’t we lived in a news desert long enough?

The Albany News Project is a new initiative organized by Albany citizens. We want to create a news site for Albany that is timely, credible, informative, and unbiased.

The site will rely on the support of volunteers, donors, subscribers, and sponsors to pay for administrative costs and for hiring professional journalists.

Organizing and developing the Albany News Project will take time. We hope to launch in early 2026 and to provide you with essential local coverage for the issues and personalities dominating the next election cycle.
